Some knives are built from materials ordered for a project. The Cameroon Sentinel was built from materials that already had a story.
This formidable Kukri features a 12-inch, full-tang blade hand forged from a Case horseshoe file, giving old working steel an entirely new purpose. Its unmistakable forward-sweeping Kukri profile puts plenty of presence behind the blade, while the full-tang construction creates a substantial knife built with hard use in mind.
The blade has been given a traditional rust-blued finish, producing a deep, dark appearance that perfectly complements the rugged history of the steel. Matching domed steel pins have also been rust blued, carrying that finish through the entire knife.
But the heart of this piece is its handle.
The scales are made from Ekki, an exceptionally dense African hardwood. This particular piece wasn't simply purchased from a lumber supplier—it was brought home from Cameroon by the Ogre during his Army deployment there. Years later, that wood has become part of a knife handcrafted in his forge.
That history makes this Kukri something more than the sum of its materials. The horseshoe file represents steel originally made to work. The Ekki carries a tangible connection to a deployment thousands of miles from home. Together, they've been given a second purpose in a one-of-a-kind blade meant to carry its story forward.
